The Halo Effect

halo effect (noun): the generalization from the perception of one outstanding personality trait to an overly favorable evaluation of the whole personality.

Apply this definition from Merriam-Webster to a mountain instead of a person’s personality, you could say that I have an “overly favorable evaluation” of these hills that I get to admire each day.  However, talk with any Sandian and he or she will agree that you never get tired of looking at our mountain range.

Now, apply that concept to these images that I captured while out for a hike along the foothills, and you will see that a halo is clearly visible above these peaks, further making the case for my “overly favorable evaluation” of these glorious Sandias.
