Weekly Photo Challenge: Saturated

The biggest local news headline here today was “NM Named Most Extreme Weather in 2013.”  As the Weather Channel said so well:

There one state that has, well, taken it on the chin more than others this year.

You may have read some of my posts this spring and summer about the lingering drought.  There was Hope for the Hills and then on the My Hankerings Blog, I wrote about Wanted: Rain or Snow

Well, then it appeared this September the sky fell.  Actually, it started in mid-July.  Lots and lots of rain fell on the desert floor.  August was drier, then came September and we started setting records with one of the wettest monsoon seasons.  While it wasn’t quite as severe as it was for my my friends in Colorado, we certainly had our fair share.

When it rains it pours.

Below is a series of photos during those stormy days that showed the Sandia Mountain saturated in rain clouds.
