Tomorrow is the last day of the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta and we’re going to be there on the field for the mass ascension.

While it’s been going on for a 8 days, we have only witnessed it from afar this week.  It’s nice to see the hundreds of hot air balloons dot the horizon to the west, but it’s a completely different experience to be there where all the action takes place.

These photos are from last year’s fiesta and it makes me remember the anticipation you feel as the sun starts to rise over the Sandias.  Then, the  balloons begin to fill one by one.  And before you know it they have filled the sky.

I’m looking forward to tomorrow and being able to experience the excitement of the fiesta once again.

  1. This was what I missed last year when we arrived too late 😦 Beautiful, though. I can’t wait to see your photos from the mass ascension tomorrow! Hope the weather is kind to you…have fun!
